Enhance your drying process with the patented Grain Inverter option, available for your stack dryer package. By incorporating the Grain Inverter, you can achieve even and consistent drying, higher test weights, and reduced operating costs.
The Grain Inverter works by redirecting the warmest grain from the inside of the column to the outer edges where the wettest grain is located. This allows the captured heat, which would have otherwise escaped the dryer, to dry the grain effectively.
By inverting all but the outer two inches of grain from the column's outside to the inside, this innovative process maintains optimal grain temperature and maximizes grain quality. Furthermore, this fuel-efficient method leads to significant cost savings. Maintenance is made easy with the convenient clean-out door, ensuring quick and hassle-free upkeep of your dryer system.
AC Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) metering rolls ensure a gentle grain flow to the auger. With the AC Metering Motor and VFD, you can easily set unload speeds without time-consuming calibration. AC motors offer durability and require minimal maintenance.
The standard 7" diameter metering rolls provide even unloading across the column's width, eliminating the need for grain column adjustments. This well-established design facilitates smooth material flow from the dryer to your handling system.
Static moisture sampler
Upgrade your moisture sampling accuracy with the static moisture sampler. It provides debris-free and precise samples when the grain is static, using FFI's patented discharge auger for a true cross-section.
With readings taken every minute, your dryer can adjust for optimal results based on accurate moisture measurements. FFI's innovative design eliminates conventional moving parts, using air to move the grain and ensuring a clean sampling chamber after each cycle.
High-efficiency burners
FFI's high-efficiency burners offer even heat and maximum airflow, ideal for diverse farming and weather conditions. Equipped with ASCO valves (single module) or MAXON gate valves (stackable), they feature an electronic ignition system, view window, adjustable vaporizer, large service access door, and oil-filled gas pressure gauges.
Exclusive on/off fire
On/Off Fire, exclusively found on GSI and FFI dryers, provides enhanced plenum temperature control, allowing adjustments as low as five degrees above ambient temperature. This feature is particularly beneficial for temperature-sensitive grains like wheat.
Largest grain holding capacity
Maintaining grain quality is crucial, as excessive heat can compromise it. FFI dryers offer larger grain column capacity, increasing the likelihood of achieving the rated drying capacity. By providing the optimal balance between heat level, retention time, and airflow, FFI dryers ensure the best grain quality and efficiency, preventing both under-drying and over-drying issues.
Even heat and grain quality
Uniform plenum temperature is achieved through High/Low Fire cycling, while the 14" wide columns maximize grain capacity and minimize temperature variations. Air-mixing chambers ensure a thorough mixing of air and heat, protecting grain columns from infrared damage. Dryers with multiple heat zones prioritize the hottest air for high-moisture grain, eliminating the need for a grain inverter. This design optimizes drying efficiency and grain quality.
Axial fans with composite polymer blades offer superior efficiency compared to centrifugal fans. They have a low starting load, extending motor life without requiring rebalancing throughout the dryer's lifespan. Moreover, they provide high air flow across a wide static pressure range, operate quietly, and contribute to reduced energy costs.
Optimized airflow
In all dryer models, the airflow is sized to match the basket to achieve consistent airflow and capacity.
New taller rear access door
Enhanced accessibility and safety are achieved with the introduction of the new 29"x72" access door for single fan modules and 29"x48" access door for 60/40 split 2-fan modules. These larger doors facilitate easier and safer entry into the dryer's plenum area.
8" dura-edge auger flighting
FFI augers are equipped with Dura-Edge flighting, featuring an 8" diameter and 1/4" ribbon. The outside edge of the flighting is 30% thicker than regular flighting, ensuring durability. Additionally, GSI and FFI augers have a double flight design at the intake end, providing increased dependability, longevity, and ease of maintenance.
Rear discharge auto-shutdown
To prevent equipment damage, the auto-shutdown feature is triggered when there is a stoppage in the takeaway system. The automatic discharge shutdown relies on a hinged lid switch located at the rear 2' discharge extension. If the grain overfills the discharge auger and forces the lid open, the shutdown mechanism is activated. This ensures the safe operation of the equipment.
Collect-A-Sample
Achieve optimal dryer performance with the manual Collect-A-Sample feature, which allows you to sample the grain running across the moisture sensor used for dryer control. This ensures the most accurate readings and enables precise adjustment of the dryer for maximum efficiency.
Improved ladder design
FFI's redesigned standard ladder package for Portable Dryers complies with the latest OSHA specifications. The ladders are built with heavy-duty construction and incorporate slip-resistant patterns to enhance grip, especially in wet conditions. This ensures safety and stability during ladder use.
Platforms
Stacked dryers are equipped with platforms on the upper modules, and optional platforms are available for the bottom module as well as top and side service platforms. These platforms enhance accessibility and facilitate maintenance and servicing of the dryers.
Unlike traditional dryers where fans and heaters are mounted on the same end, the X-Stream dryer offers a staggered configuration with fans and heaters placed on opposite ends. This design ensures more uniform heat distribution throughout the dryer, regardless of column location. As a result, the X-Stream achieves higher grain quality with more even drying, at a lower cost and potential grain efficiency improvement of up to 10%.
Unparalleled performance
To maximize performance and achieve the highest efficiency, the optional grain inverters can be added to the X-Stream stack dryer. This combination allows for even drying from the front to back and across the entire column, without any loss of usable heat. By incorporating these exclusive features, the X-Stream stack dryer with grain inverters becomes the most efficient portable dryer available in the market.
Noise suppressor
Although the Noise Suppression System is not necessary in most cases, it is available as an option for those seeking an ultra-quiet dryer. This system can reduce the noise level at a distance of 15' to one-fourth of the OSHA 8-hour exposure limit, surpassing the noise reduction achieved by competitive centrifugal fan models.
Ultra quiet
The optional noise suppression system incorporates advanced noise absorption material that maximizes noise reduction. It effectively lowers the noise level from 93 dB to 82 dB at a distance of 15', resulting in a significant reduction in noise. Compared to competitive dryers with centrifugal fans, it achieves a 3 dB lower noise level, making it noticeably quieter.
Durable and long-lasting
Self-supporting, galvanized, and powder-coated steel outer construction for long life.
Easy installs and maintenance
The installation process is quick and straightforward, requiring minimal time and effort. The open top and bottom design facilitates easy access for servicing and maintaining fans and motors. Additionally, the retrofit option is available for all previous GSI and Fram Fans axial fan dryers, ensuring compatibility and convenience.
Heat reclaimer
The heat reclaimer is a valuable addition to multi-fan dryers as it minimizes heat loss during dry and cool mode by recycling and reusing the heat. This results in a reduction in fuel consumption and operating costs by up to 30%.
The open ductwork in the dryer is designed to prevent the accumulation of fine materials, ensuring optimal sizing and no loss of capacity. Additionally, the sizing of the ductwork is optimized to reduce air velocity, minimizing the intake of chaff or air debris into the dryer.
Furthermore, it is possible to integrate a Heat Reclaimer with GSI's noise suppressor system, providing both energy efficiency and noise reduction benefits in a single package.
Extremely Quiet Experience
The Quiet Dryer is designed with a best-in-class, commercial-grade blower that is also used in Zimmerman tower dryers. Despite using this blower, there is no loss in capacity or airflow, and it offers electrical efficiency comparable to FFI vane axial fan portable dryers.
This patent-pending feature, combined with the reliable star-fire burner used in existing FFI vane axial portable dryers, ensures efficient airflow delivery to the burner. With its higher grain throughput compared to centrifugal fan portable dryers, the FFI Quiet Dryer provides a quieter and more efficient drying solution.

The vision control system offers familiar legacy modes of moisture control, ensuring compatibility with various operational needs. Among these modes, two of the most commonly used are:
Temperature-based 5-speed
This mode utilizes the grain temperature to determine the final moisture content. It is suitable for conditions where the moisture level of the grain varies widely. The 5-Speed mode includes automatic speed averaging, meaning that when there are significant moisture changes, all five speeds will adjust accordingly to bring the operation back in sync with the desired output moisture.
Moisture-based infinite speed
In this mode, the system uses both temperature and two moisture sensors to control the speed of the dryer infinitely. The goal is to manage and maintain the desired output moisture level by continuously adjusting the dryer's speed based on the temperature and moisture measurements.
These modes provide flexibility and control options to meet the specific requirements of different drying operations.
Each Vision system uses exclusive controls approved by Intertek ETL, a nationally recognized testing laboratory.
With the Vision control system's Auto-Start feature, a process that used to take 2 to 4 hours can now be automated. All you need to do is input the incoming moisture of the grain, the desired outgoing moisture level, and the grain type.
Once you hit start, Vision Auto-Start takes over the management and control of the pre-drying process and stages the operation of the dryer accordingly. This automation feature eliminates the need for manual intervention, saving you time and effort.
The optional WatchDog System, exclusively available at GSI, allows you to have control over your Vision dryer wherever you may be. Whether you're at home, in the combine, or even at a local football game, the WatchDog System enables you to access your Vision dryer control remotely.
